Design

As you already know, the contents and structure of your store are created by adding products, categories, blogs, text pages and links. However, in terms of design, the appearance and style of your store depend on the use of the templates. Now we show you the available options on the right side bar of the “Menu design” section on your control panel.

General

When we go to this option we find the following sub-sections:

*Template configuration: Depending on the template you have chosen, you will be able to configure with this option many aspects such as: the text and picture of your logo, the banners, the style and structure of the page, the font, the categories, the news, etc.

*Templates gallery: Here you find all the free templates that are available to be used.

*Templates editor: This editor is aimed for expert users and designers to work with the tools and files that are available to change the appearance and design of the template of their store. If you know about HTML and CSS you could change completely how your web looks.

*Uploaded files: This option lets you upload files to Tiendy and see all the files you have uploaded. If you click on any of the pictures you will be able to check the information about them in the left margin of the control panel. It is important to point out that all the files that are going to be included in the text pages of your store and are not part of the template design should be uploaded using this option. Moreover, in this option there are two useful links for managing files:

*Download my template: Your template will be downloaded as .zip in order to enable you to work with it in your own computer.

*Upload template: Lets you upload the template once customised from your computer to the server.

Templates gallery

Tiendy offers a wide variety of templates that can be applied for free to your store. You just have to click on any of them. The templates may influence how your store looks in many ways so we recommend spending some time thinking about which one makes more sense for you and your company. Bear in mind that if you apply a new template all the changes performed in the old one will disappear.

Template customization

After checking how your store looks using the different templates maybe you would like to customise it even more. Tiendy offers you a tool called “Twig” that is very helpful to modify your store and see it after all the changes.

If you just want to make some little tweaks in a template, you can also check the Templates editor and work directly on the code files that make up the templates. You can find them in General Template, Interior Template and Resources.

Take into account that all the pictures and files of the template of your store can be modified from Resources, in Templates Editor. Hence, you can modify in your computer any of the files that make up your template and upload them again using the same name to replace the existent ones. This could be very useful for adding your logo or any other interesting material to the template of your store.
